Michael Cassidy, President and Chief Executive Officer
 

Michael Cassidy founded Undertone in 2002 and serves as the company's President and Chief Executive Officer. Under Michael's leadership, Undertone has become one of the industry’s foremost online advertising networks. Today, the company has partnerships with more than 350 top-ranked media properties and counts many of the Fortune 500 as customers.

Prior to starting Undertone in 2001, Michael founded Intercept Interactive, an interactive marketing and media buying firm that came to prominence for its work around the launch of Orbitz.com.

Previously, Michael served as the Vice President of Sales for About.com, where he was responsible for opening the company's Midwest office and guiding development in the region. Michael joined About.com (then known as The Mining Company and now owned by The New York Times Company) as one of the company's first sales executives and was responsible for developing many of the company's major agency and client relationships across North America.

Michael received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the State University of New York at Oswego.

Eric Franchi, Senior Vice President of Business Development
 

Eric Franchi is the Senior Vice President of Business Development for Undertone. In this role, Eric oversees the company’s business development initiatives, which include forging strategic relationships and developing new revenue generation programs, while working closely with the executive team on critical endeavors.

Since joining the company in 2001, Eric has held various executive-level positions. As Senior Vice President of Media from 2007 to 2008, Eric was responsible for the company’s publisher relations and partner development efforts. Previously, as Senior Vice President of Sales from 2005 to 2007, Eric initiated Undertone’s rapid North American sales team expansion.

Eric began his interactive career at About.com as a sales executive and successfully managed key agency relationships in New York City. He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Pennsylvania State University.

David Dill, Chief Financial Officer
 

David Dill is the Chief Financial Officer of Undertone. As CFO, David is responsible for financial operations, the human resources team, and legal activities.

After over three decades of technology and services company experience in various industries, David joined Undertone in July 2008. Most recently, he was CFO at Orchestria Corporation, which provides software and solutions to help organizations prevent data loss and control electronic communications.

David's prior roles included CFO positions at Telwares, which acquired and integrated five companies to create the largest firm in the telecommunications expense management industry, StorageApps, which was sold to Hewlett-Packard for $350 million, and WorldGate Communications, which he joined as employee number seven and helped take to an IPO and a billion dollar market value. In these roles, in addition to finance, he also managed human resources, legal, IT, facilities, manufacturing and operations. Before his entrepreneurial days, David spent 19 years at IBM, rising through the ranks to his last position as CFO of the $2 billion RS/6000 Division.

David holds an A.B. degree in economics from Princeton University and an S.M. degree in finance and marketing from MIT's Sloan School of Management.

Alan Schanzer, Chief Strategy Officer
 

Alan Schanzer joined Undertone in 2008 as Chief Strategy Officer. In this position, Alan oversees the company’s media efforts which include managing and developing publisher programs while working closely with the management team on developing strategic initiatives that help drive the company forward.

Before joining Undertone, Alan was Managing Partner at MEC Interaction where he was responsible for overseeing all activity related to MEC Interaction and its associated companies in North America, and delivering strategic leadership, vision and insight. Schanzer, along with four associates, formed The Digital Edge in 1999 as an independent business unit of Mediaedge:cia. In 2005, The Digital Edge was joined with Outrider and Wunderman Media to form MEC Interaction.

A 14-year media veteran, Schanzer has been recognized by Advertising Age as a Media Maven in 2003, named one of Online Advertising’s 50 Most Influential by Media Post, and selected as an Interactive Media All Star by Mediaweek. He serves on the board of directors for Visible Technology and has participated on the agency advisory board for numerous organizations including the Interactive Advertising Bureau and the Online Publishers Association.

He is a graduate of Syracuse University and a frequent speaker and contributor at agency and industry events.

John Sabella, Chief Technology Officer
 

John Sabella joined Undertone in 2008 as Chief Technology Officer. In this position, he is responsible for guiding the company’s technology strategy and development efforts. John is focused on systems that provide enhanced efficiency and effectiveness for Undertone’s advertisers and publishers including analytics, targeting and monetization capabilities.

Prior to joining Undertone, John was Senior Vice President of Engineering at Rhythm NewMedia, a start-up advertising-supported mobile video company, where he managed the development and launch of the company’s mobile video advertising platform. Before that, John served as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operations Officer at Conducive Corporation where he designed and delivered adMarketplace.net, an Internet ad-buying technology based on an open, transparent marketplace and a scalable self-service model. Also while at Conducive, John built the eBay Keywords system which allowed sellers to promote their products through keyword buying across eBay.

John began his digital media career at DoubleClick, Inc. as Vice President of Engineering, where he rebuilt the company’s entire publisher platform and was instrumental in developing and launching new products such as Boomerang, Dart for Advertisers, and DARTmail, among others.

With more than a decade of interactive experience, John has served on a host of advisory boards for digital companies, including Tacoda, Inc., Adap.tv, Permuto, and AdInfuse. He is a graduate of Columbia University.

Kelly Wenzel, Senior Vice President of Marketing
 

As Senior Vice President of Marketing, Kelly Wenzel is responsible for Undertone’s marketing strategy and execution, including demand generation, public relations and marketing communication activities.

Prior to joining Undertone in July 2009, Kelly spent fifteen years delivering repeatable marketing results in the enterprise software sector. Most recently as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Tideway Systems, Kelly spearheaded the launch of multiple new product offerings which helped garner global recognition for the company as a 2009 World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer. Kelly also served as CMO of DataSynapse, where she was instrumental in establishing the company as the de facto leader in the emerging grid and virtualization market. Kelly developed, managed and executed an impressive lead-generation infrastructure that helped fuel the company’s triple-digit growth. Kelly has also held positions as the Vice President of Marketing at Prescient Systems and Optum, Inc.

In 2008, Kelly was named Business Executive of the Year in a Computer Software and Services company by the Stevie Awards for Women in Business. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and communications from the University of South Carolina.
